The AmwayTM Diamond Challenge

[This response is from distributors in the midwest who have achieved the Founders Direct, Ruby, and Pearl pin levels in Amway.]

We have been distributors for over 12 years and direct/above for 10 of those.  We believe the Amway business CAN be built by anbody. Some need more help than others and should be willing to humble themselves enough to admit they need the help. We owned a conventional business prior to becoming distributors, but knew nothing about building an Amway business.  With a spirit of cooperation and following a proven system, we were able to succeed.  It also takes a "never give up" attitude.  Which is something all successful people have in common, whether they are athletes, entertiners, authors, doctors, business owners, CEOs...   The Professional Development  Program (PDP) of the Amway business is not unique. Teachers, doctors, nurses, mechanics, salesman, even Walmart employees rely on continuing education and motivation to learn industry trends and skills.

There are thousands of agencies that conduct training seminars and provide materials. (and they make money doing it!)  Building this business is no different.  Most of us need this information to gain the necessary skills to succeed.  Our system of books and tapes are a "do-it-at-home" tool.  People who travel alot and may not be able to attend all meetings, can get what they need through the cassette player in their cars.  Look at the cost of a college education.  PDPs are just a fraction of that cost and one could say we "graduate" with a degree in Financial Success.  Many people never find work in the area of their degrees and don't think to ask for refunds or compensation from the university because it didn't work for them.  Yet our system is satisfaction guaranteed and will provide refunds within specific time periods.

We were involved in a couple MLMs prior to Amway.  There was no support by members or a system of educating and none of them paid off. They had good people, good products, and good, but limited, income potential.  The tools are a key difference.  Through the years we have seen distributors come and go.  The ones who never attempt to be a part of the PDP don't even get started.  Those who do and then stop attending meetings, will then stop getting tapes and books, then stop ordering products and then fail to renew their distributorship.  There is a domino effect.  It has happened every time.  Those who stay with the program continue to have success in personal growth and their business, even if it seems slow.  When we see people change on the outside, the growth inside is immense.  They are better people.

We knew from the beginning that someone made money from the system, but so what?!  We knew what was in it for us and we share that with others.  We're building two businesses simultaneously.  Personaly, we have made more money from the Amway business than tools.  But the business can pay for itself very early in the game.  It did for us and we can help others do that.  We have made more thatn we spent in our years involved.  We are aware of lawauits against Amway and  distributors but every successful business has those hassles.  There are always people looking for an easy way to make money (and the Amway business never claims to do that).  Lotteries and suing the other guy have become a way of life in this country.  There may be legitimate cause in some cases but we have never experienced any problems in the organization we are involved in.  Our mentors in this business have conistently done all they can to make things better for us.  As the saying goes-"the customer is always right" and we would rather take care of others and be rich, than be right.  Zig Ziglar says, "If you help enough people get what they want, then you can have what you want".  We like doing business that way.

We're willing to help anyone who asks and even those who don't.  People skills learned through  the system can take you a long way and in areas you wouldn't think--like with your children, in your community or church and in your present occupation.

Thank goodness we are not the same people we were all those years ago.  Thank goodness someone believed in us and saw who we could become.  Even if we had made no money fom the business, we are better off than we
would have been without it!
